Modules of Interest:

I’m particularly intrigued by modules related to systems, gameplay, psychology, user experience, and narrative. What excites me most about this course is the opportunity to gain hands-on experience with advanced game development facilities.

In this course, I will get to explore how games are made by learning different theories, such as systems, gameplay, psychology, user experience, and narrative.

I will also have the chance to gain practical experience. This means I’ll actually work with 3D models, animations, and special effects using real-time game engines. The university has some cool game development facilities, like the Centre for Creative Immersive and Extended Reality (CCIXR), which is the first of its kind in the UK.

I’ll collaborate with fellow Games students on game projects, including the University Game Jam, where we can put our skills to the test and learn to work together as a team.

If I choose to, I can even do a work placement as part of the course, which will help me gain real-world experience in the industry.

What’s more, this course is accredited by TIGA, which is a big deal in the game development world. It means I’ll be learning skills that are recognized and valued by the games and related industries.
